The Greenery has published
its sustainability report entitled 'Healthy is More'. The report
focuses on the achievements of The Greenery and its growers in the
area of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) over the past
year.
This sustainability report shows
the results achieved by The Greenery in 2008 within the context of
its sustainability policy. This year's sustainability report was
compiled according to GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) Guidelines
and shows how The Greenery reduced the impact of its operations on
the environment. Key factors that served to bring about this
improvement in sustainable business operations include a reduction
in the emission of CO2, as well as in the consumption of water
(-9%) and electricity (-7%). In addition, efficiency measures in
logistics and at Dijco, The Greenery's transport company, resulted
in a substantial reduction in fuel consumption. Also, 'Food Chain
Partnership' projects were initiated worldwide to enhance the
sustainability of crop protection agents.
Healthy is more
The Greenery's sustainability
policy is perfectly reflected in its title: 'Healthy is More'. With
this, The Greenery aims to show that sustainability is not limited
to environmental measures alone. This policy also incorporates
measures in the area of 'Healthy Cultivation', 'Healthy Variation',
'Healthy Innovation', 'Healthy Business Operations', 'Healthy
Employees' and 'Healthy Communication'. Defining appropriate
measures and goals in each of these areas serves to create a
healthy balance between People, Planet and Profit.
